I'm sorry to report that the wonderful Tony Guerrero has passed away. I've known Tony almost all my life. We first met at Oro Grande, then continued on at Dysinger, then Crescent and finally Savanna. We lived 'around the corner' from each other in Riverside for 30 years but didn't know it. We connected up on Classmates.com and met for lunch one day. We both brought our annuals to reminisce about the past. We had a great time and emailed off and on. Tony was a great artist and he taught me how to draw the Flintstones when we were in Jr. High School. To this day it's the only thing I can draw, but never as good as he was able to. He was a postal carrier in Riverside for 34 years. He was also very active at Harvest Church. He had 9 brothers and sisters so if you have younger or older siblings, I'm sure they went to school with a Guerrero. I know my brother and sister did. I'm really going to miss him.

I always had fond memories of Tony.  Especially in elementary school.  I used to tell my kids about a kid named Tony Guerrero that would ask all the girls in class that sat nearby if he could sharpen their pencils for them.  I know it sounds silly but it was so sweet and it stuck with me all these years.  I was trying to tell my kids that even a small gesture of kindness shows the kind of person you are and others appreciate feeling like they are worthy of that special treatment.  I don't know if I got my kids to understand but I know I told Tony about it at the last reunion he came to. He looked surprised that I remembered such a small thing and I am pretty sure even he didn't remember, but it truly was so sweet and kind and was just completely TONY.

So sad to know you are gone Tony, rest in peace.

So sorry to hear Tony is no longer with us.  He was one of the sweetest guys I knew at school.

Knowing him, I know he must of had a full life.  Tony where ever you are we love you.
