Debi didn't graduate with us because she transferred to Kennedy, but she was with us from second grade on at Dysinger. We were best friends after we met that summer walking our baby dolls on opposite sides of the street. Debi had a great imagination and was fun to be around. I grew to be 5'9" and she stayed at 4'11". At Crescent we were called Beanie & Cecile, Jack & the Beanstalk, you name it. She used to answer fan mail for the Monkeys and Davey Jones told her it was cool to be short. She was in Frisco during the Summer of Love and brought me back various psychedelic posters advertising free concerts with the likes of the Grateful Dead, the Doors, Jefferson Airplane, etc. (wish I'd kept them all these years!) She personally knew Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin, and everyone else who was anyone. Debi went to nursing school in Humboldt after graduation and was a dedicated hospice worker at the time of her death. She was deeply loved by clients and their families alike. Rest in peace...I love you, Debi.
