The HAPPY HOUR at El Torito was a lot of fun and several people commented that the class of '69 had a GOOD CROWD!  If I had to guess, I'd say there were a good 80 people there.  I was among the last 5 people to walk off the patio at midnight...so it went strong for awhile.  If you missed it this year, let's all try to put it on our calendars for NEXT year.  Andy A surprised up by flying in from Rhode Island...baring gifts for some of us REBEL girls!  He SPOILS us :)  I'm going to try to post some pics.  Stay tuned!

Thanks so much Rick, for posting the OBIT.  I heard about his passing from Donoghue, also.  Too bad not more of our classmates come to this site more often but some of us keep trying to fill it with good and interesting news and pictures.  Hope you make it to our next gathering, whenever that will be.  Take care.

JUST IN CASE YOU "HAPPEN" TO COME TO OUR SAVANNA SITE TODAY.... I wanted to express a warm hearted, ever-so-thankfull, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of you.  Our prayers to you and your family for a happy, fulfilling holiday season with safe and funfilled travels.  I can honestly say that being close to my childhood friends has been one of the most valued blessings in my life.  Everyone who thinks they are not loved in this life should flip back a few pages and know that they mean the world to someone and truth is...you just never know who that someone could be.....just know!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY, YA ALL!

Reach out and touch the hearts of those you think about, they just might be waiting for your hand.....God Bless!

OMG!  Christmas is almost upon us...I am cooking a wonderfully stuffed turkey as we speak..The house smells like mama is still in it cooking away...In my heart she is ....  I tell you, with family scattered all over, I have to celebrate on different days...so I will be cooking a lot this month!  I am NOT complaining to be sure...I wish you all the best of  everything during this awesome time of year.  Please know that all you brothers and sisters are being thought of in my heart and for those that need prayer, I am always asking God to watch over you and protect your hearts....  Merry Christmas to you and yours and may the new year bring you only good, with hope and faith and all the good stuff your heart desires...Ciao for now...I love you Rebels!   Cathy

P.S. Brother Tommy Hoover needs some computer classes for next year...anyone want to step up to the plate? Know this...you will have to start with "the alphabet" first...cuz he knows nada!  But I just spoke with him and he wants you all to know he misses you and hopes you have a joyous Christmas.

I'll be moving out of the area soon.  My dad passed away Jan. 10, 2013, at the age of 91, and we're putting the house on the market.  We've lived here for 56 years, and it's hard to think of not living on Philodendron Way!

I'll be moving to Hemet, in the near future; so will probably miss a lot of any future reunions.  It's been fun catching up with everyone though, and hope everyone stays well!

Hi Guys, VERY moving day today! I am in Japan and currently on the bullet train returning to Tokyo from Hiroshima! Our ability to unleash such sheer terror is frightening! Somehow, I just wanted to touch base with home! Believe me, I believe we had no choice but to unleash this terror because the number of Americans projected to be killed in the event of an invasion are amazing! But I wonder if the individual who's shadow was burned into a wall as he was vaporized really knew why he had to make such a sacrifice!!! Stay well All! See you soon!

Hi everyone.  Haven't written on here for a long time and just popped in to see if there was any activity.  Not much :(   BECKY....I know you're feeling sad for leaving the only home you've know for so many years BUT you make it sound like Hemet is in another part of the country...haha.  Don't you know that Andy Armstrong comes to the Happy Hour each year from RHODE ISLAND???  And Loren comes in from UTAH.....and others have come from farther away cities, so there's NO excuse.  Hemet isn't as far away as Cathy Scafani's home, or Chris Walthall's, or Gary Laukennan comes in from BRAZIL.  OK, nuff of that.  Happy trails, tho :)

Andy, BE SAFE.  We all worry about you and your far off places.  Keep a body guard close by at all times, sweetie.

I'm hoping that we'll get a committee meeting soon for our NEXT reunion, which should be in 2014 for a 45th reunion.  Hope it's as well received as our last one.  Any INPUT at this time is accepted!!!  Put your thinking hats on as to the type of gathering you'd like.  I, personally, would want an even MORE casual one than last.  I really loved the outdoor venue and the guys wearing shorts and nice shirts.  Sit down dinners take up too much time...I'm all for a different type of eating.  Maybe a CHUCK WAGON grill going on.  Just thinking out loud.

Hope you're all doing well.  I started working at Costco in YL doing Food Demo's last Nov and it's just parttime but alot of FUN.  I just chat all day and give out food to you.  Only a couple days a week, and that's just perfect for me these days :)  Hope to see you all at our next gathering....whenever that'll be.  FOR SURE we'll have the yearly Happy Hour on the first Friday in Oct at El Torito.  MORE TO FOLLOW!  BYE for now!!

Chris

Thanks Chris, I agree with a more casual reunion. Outdoor eating, bbq, maybe by a lake with horseshoes, volleyball for everyone. I pray all is well with everyone and they are ready for spring and summer as I am.  Lake Tahoe is so beautiful in the spring and summer, I'm very priveleged to live in an awesome place. Everyone be safe wherever you are and always stay in touch with us all. Blessings, Ester Cusac

Chris - when I worked at EarthLink, we had a department beach party, at Doheny Beach!  They have a grassy picnic area, and everyone brought chairs and we put up canopies for shade.  We also catered the party through one of the caterers that is recommended there.  It was a wonderful day!  They had a volleyball game going on; and some of the guys (though they were a lot younger than I) did a little surfing.

We had beach towels made, embroidered with the company logo, and everyone just enjoyed sitting around, talking and having fun.  It was a beautiful day, and perfect weather for something like that.  I think something like that would be fun.  You can have beer, as long as you pay a deposit (I believe that's how that works), and the food was excellent.

Oh, and I know Hemet isn't at the ends of the earth!  It's just that the eyesight isn't what it used to be, and driving at night is sometimes a chore!  I'll try to make any that I can (except the one at the Foxfire(?), cause of the night driving.

If we have a class of 69 reunion, though, I would definitely try to make arrangements for a hotel for that one.
