I agree with Cathy, thanks girls for posting on our website..We will let everyone know when we find out about the funeral, just know that it's at the same place her mother Meta was buried at.

Blessings,

Ester

Well, here it is 8:30 am... I want to go to Karin's memorial services...but I just hate the thought of the 1-1/2 hour drive... This is the part where we all face...  Do I make special attempts or just stay comfie?  I'm not at home, I have my doggie with me, and I forgot my shoes (only have my slippers)... If I show up people are going to say "what the heck".... so I might as well go and get it done... I loved Karin and I want her to know it.  So...I'm off..........ciao for now...Cathy

What a beautiful service they had for Karin.  She would have been very touched that so many people were then in her memory.  Karin has a very loving family and so many friends that are going to miss her.  I am attaching photos of the services for those that could not attend.  Her get together was at her home, which reflected her exquisit beauty and grace.

Here is a picture of our Karin Trapp from her high school picture.

Cathy - glad you and Peggy were able to go to Karin's services. I had planned to go, but I had to babysit my grandsons and had a kitty vet emergency so my plans were pre-empted. The picture of Karin and her mom was so nice. Karin's great smile was something I always remembered about her. Sonya is very pretty. Thanks for going... love ya kathie

Cathy, thank you for the pictures. The one that is very special to me is the one of her and her mother Meta, I've asked Sonya to please send me a copy so I can send to my mom because she used to talk and spend time with her when we were young..again thanks a whole lot for the pictures..I would've come down to the memorial but my husband has not been doing very well. It's a every day is a new day for us..take care and today it's about 82 here in Tahoe and I know it's in the, should I say 100's down there. HAHA..I can't believe it's already been a year since we had the reunion..

That's what I was thinking when I took that picture of Karin and her mom.  So many knew her mom.  The saddest thing I saw at the party was her father (who has Alzheimers) sitting in the garage/play room, and he was totally unaware of his surroundings (as far as I could tell)...and Karin was his caretaker.  I wonder what they will do with him?  Did you know Karin's father?  Sonya is very loving and I am quite sure that he will be taken care of, but it is just so sad.  Don't rub it in about this freeking hot ask weather we are having... Yes, it was 105 today, but something told me to head for the hills, and so it was.....I went up to Idyllwild.  It was cool and perfect up there in the forest.  Course, I have enough work up there to choke a pig.  People ask "why you so skinny Scafani?".... well thats why....the work just never ends.  I hope you and your hubby are doing well.  You are always in my prayers.  Love ya...Cathy

Yes, Cathy I knew her father Kurk, when we were last there the day after the reunion her father came out to sit where we were outside on the back patio..Karin told us that he doesn't even know who she was anymore or her family, husband Gary took care of him while she got to work. I have written to Sonya and asked what will happen to her grandpa but I know things are hard for her right now. We did email each other after the memorial.  I've asked her to make a copy of the picture of Meta and Karin because my mother remembers Meta, Karin's mom and wants to see the picture. I wish I could've come down for the memorial but my husband wasn't doing so good.  I have alot of good memories that I will always remember of Karin as kids growing up together. It's funny after we graduated and got married we lost touch..I wish that hadn't happened.  talk to you later Cathy..your a true buddy!!!!

Hello,

Sorry to hear about Karin - a very nice person!! I apologize for my lack of communication. I have been in the middle east and a lot of the security locations do not allow open access to the internet. I understand that it has been a little warm in SoCal. It was somewhere between 110 and 115 in Dubai last week! Hot and miserable. However, it was hot enough that I went skiing in Dubai! Very cool actually. Indoor Skiing!! Of course, the best part was just getting out of the desert heat. Got to go dune jumping and then on to a caravan encampment for a full meal including a lot of belly dancing (always a job for you Cathy)! After the dinner, we rode camels back to where our cars were located and then back to the hotel. Also go to do a little falconry and that was very cool. The drive back after the dinner was under the Arabian sky with about a billion stars. It was unbelievable. Very cool playing in the desert right in the shadow of the pyramids and sphinx - I really have a great job!! Israel was hot as always, but it is something to go into Jerusalem and see all three great religions represented within eyeshot. From the Dome of the Rock to the Western Wall and then onto the spot where Christ was buried. Truly amazing!!!!

Hope to get to the Cape this week for a little baseball. Chris, did you ever get to NY City with your friend?? Hope you had fun. If any of you come out for Scot Pickler/Andy Bielanski baseball, please let me know.

Oh God Andy..... You are sooo lucky to be able to see all that....and we are lucky that you share with us all the beauty... Why are there more stars in their skies than ours????  I thought about doing ministry work in the middle east, so that I could get there and do something, but I keep on getting boyfriends and that keeps me from doing what I want to do.  Gezzzzzzzzzzz   I just shoulda become a nun like I wanted to in the first place...  I guess you can't be a nun if your fickle can ya?  Someday, I hope to see all the religious places and kiss the ground where Christ is burried.... Well, take care of you and keep in touch, k?   We love you Andy

Ester... you are awesome and truly a great friend for life.  Please don't feel bad about not being there everyday of her life... she was busy having a good life and so were you.  Eventually, we will all be together and then watch out... Can you spell PARTY???????

Hope everyone is enjoying their "summer vacation"! Too much on my plate like everyone, still hanging in here, still looking for work, playing with the kids and helping a friend. Found out my knees are shot so may be going in for surgery in Oct AFTER I go to AZ to see my newest granddaughter! I also get to play and watch movies with Alistar. She asked her daddy "do we have to rent movies Grandma Kathie likes?, cuz I don't know if I would like them..." Bill told her chances are I'll like the same movies she does... true story! I probably have as many Disney movies as she does! Take care! kathie

ps: Cathy, I don't see you as a nun! You'd be the one getting caught giggling and having way too much fun! love you!

The Pomona Fair is comin round the corner.... anyone planning on attending?  I would like to go to the horse races there.  Maybe we can pick a day and meet there???  that would be a great summertime fun place to meet...  OK, it's not a "love in" and you can't smoke pot, but you could bring the family and have some good wholesome fun.  What do ya think?

Hey Andy...  Hope your okay there in the east..  I think the Pomona Fair is going to be in about 2 weeks????  Not sure... My niece and I have been hanging out for a few months at the place where they train the horses for Delmar, hollywood park, and the pomona fair.  soooo  we are going to be at the fair seeing all the horses that we have been giving carrots and hay and grain to and just hoping that they do well.  its been an experience for me... My niece hopes to someday be a vet and they just love her over there... she has watched them pull teeth, give shots, train them, etc....  its so cool.  I put my belly dancing scarfs on some of the jockeys and we all had a great day and a lot of laughs...  Well....  Take care of you daaaling..ciao for now...Cathy

Verla Boak (Milburn)

Hi everyone, well we moved back to Colorado Springs and love it here.

On a sad note, 2 weeks ago Susan Kish (Richardson) had a massive heart attack back in Maryland when visiting friends, she is still in a coma, we don't know if there has been brain damage or if she will pull out of it. It has been hard on me since we have been best friends for 45 years.

She has 3 children, and 4 grandchildren all in California. Her daughter and 1 son went back when this happened, but the doctor said she could be like this for months, so really we don't know what is going to happen. All we can do is pray.

I will keep you posted.

Thank you Verla for letting us know.  God, it is a shame that she has to go through all this and her family too.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Susan Kish as we speak.
