Way to go Tim!  Thanks so much for sharing our precious memories. I really wanted to go to the game, but with the weather so bad out here, I thought it best to just stay home and safe..Not my usual thinking, but well.. YOU SAY "WE WON"...omg awesome!  We beat Magnolia...Savanna Rocks, even in crapy weather...  Again, thank you brother for being there to represent us all.  You Rock dude!

Thanks Tim...I was wondering who may have gone, especially with it being raining and all.
Did they march you on the field like I heard was gonna happen?  How many OTHER alums would you say were there.  Where was all the memorabilia displayed?  I remember when Magnolia WAS the rival of SHS...then it became Kennedy.  You've really been showing your school spirit these past few years :)  Thanks for sharing.  Did Barbara go, too?

See you at the next gig.  Maybe Dennis will be playing somewhere that we can all go see him and dance :)  You're AWESOME!

Chris

Hope everyone is doing well, have a great turkey day! See everyone again soon I hope!

I went to the Homecoming game - heard Tim's name announced.  I was there with Sandra (Wells) Kinser, and Candy (Moore) Dooley met us there.

It was cold, but lots of fun.  Savanna won 35-30 and was a great game.  We had some cheerleaers from a different year there (I want to say 2004), who were louder than the current cheerleaders!!  They had a realy good crowd, and quite a few students from other years were mentioned on the loudspeaker.

I almost went over and had each of my brothers and sisters announced, but they weren't there so I changed my mind!  Didn't go by the el Torito that night, either before or after the game - Sandy's grandson is in the band and she had to be back to pick him up at the school.

The band is huge - I think she said almost 200 strong; I just don't like the pagentry part of it.  Give me an old precision band and drill team.  There was someone there from the class of 1978, who came out all the way from London, England to be there - talk about dedication!!

There were few from the class of 1963 (First we will always be), but they might have been like me and just not wanted my name announced!

Then, while we're watching the crowning of the Homecoming Queen and King (really? a king?!) - I discovered that  friend of the family was the sophmore princess.  Actually, she's a friend of my niece - the two played softball together.  So that was fun.  Would have been fun if they'd had more of the past Homecoming Queens there - I think there was only one other one.

It was great fun - actually the 2nd Savanna game I've gone to this year. . . .I guess the football players aren't too used to hearing cheering, 'cause when the "older" cheerleaders were cheering from the stands, the players kept looking back at them!

Didn't take any pictures - was going to but walked out of the house without the camera; but it was great fun, in spite of the cold.

Thank you for all the highlights.  It is so sad that the weather was bad and so many could not attend.  God bless you sister for keeping us alive with our sports heros...  Dave would have been very proud.

Hi everyone, can you believe this crazy hot weather we're having.  It's Sunday Jan 29th and 80+ outside.  TAN TIME :)

I wanted to give you a HEADS UP that a Memorial for our friend DAVE STOWE is in the works.  It'll be Sat Feb 25th and probably at a resturant.  I'll let you know details as they unfold.  We won't have any way of knowing a head count so we're hoping to occupy a patio area.  Any suggestions are welcome.  But for now please mark your calendar with that date and hopefully you can plan to come and share some stories of Dave.

More to come.  See you in about a month~

Chris

Hi everyone.  I'm sorry for these changes with the information reganding Dave Stowe's Celebration of Life.  As posted before the plans were to have something on Feb 25th.  That's no longer going to happen.  We STILL want to TOAST our friend and have a remembrance for him.  I'll let you know as soon as we firm up a date.  Since he was Cremated, the timing may be far off but our hearts and stories are what WE, the REBEL FRIENDS, care about.  Thanks for some of the mail showing you're interested.

More to follow,

Chris

Chris, thanks for the update.  Memories are so important when one passes away. When everyone gets together it will be the right timing. Take care and blessings to everyone. Ester

We have an OFFICIAL date for our friend, Dave Stowe's, Celebration of Life.  Hopefully Kathy will be posting the flyer soon, but in the meantime, it's April 14th at 5:00 at Original Mikes Resturant in Santa Ana. This is the same place we had our Happy 60th Birthday Bash.  We'll be starting indoors because there's a Fund Raiser taking place in the front patio as well as a car show in the parking lot.  The resturant owns the parking rights across the street, if the lot is too crowded.  After the patio clears out we will move out there.  I've posted that if anyone has an acoustic or cordless instrument and would like to bring it, we may have our own little 'Jam Session' in the patio...impromptu.  Hope any of Dave's friends that would like to have a REMEMBRANCE of him and possibly share a story or two  will want to come.  Everyone is welcome~ See you there.

Yes DC.....I agree.  Lemme see if I can figure out how to put a pic from Dave's gathering on THIS page w/o everyone needing to go to the Home Page to view it.  You have any good suggestions?  You're always good for a comment or two :)
